5 for 5 Christmas

Welcome to Day 1 of our 5 for 5 Christmas Blog Event. Today our theme is "Glitter". We are all sharing a project where we used glitter. Each day our 5 Designers will post a Christmas Inspired Project based on a theme. Some of us are offering prizes, so be sure to visit all the links below and leave comments.

I have been having a hard time getting anything to look like right lately.  When I sit down at my desk, there are a thousand things that I need to do running through my head and I seem to have lost a little art mojo .... luckily, the 5 for 5 Challenges keep me on my toes  ... here is my Glitter challenge!!

At first, I drew the Believe and wanted to emboss it with glitter but it didn't turn out well.  I had a red background and a mess.  So I used gesso to clean the background.  I scraped it a little to let the red show through.  Then I mixed glitter into matte medium and spread it all over the white.  I used the red paint though mixed with light modeling paste to rewrite Believe.  I added a couple of embellishing stickers, outlined the letters and put the canvas into a silver frame!  It might not be perfect, but it looks really good sitting on my mantle!!
