Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #29

Happy October .... and I say that from a perfectly beautiful 'almost' fall day here in Atlanta Georgia!!  After a blazing hot summer with temperatures in the 90's almost everyday since May - today's high of 78 held the promise that cooler temps are on the way!!  And we went apple picking and stopped by the pumpkin patch today which makes me feel like it is officially time to bring out the fall decorations!!  AND play with this month's Mixed Media Challenge #29!!!

SO here it is ... our mood board for your inspiration and our amazing sponsor Stampoutique!!  LOVE, love, love their stamps!! SO many to choose from and pretty hard to choose which ones I love the most!!  Let this mood board guide you as you create your mixed media work this month!

And this month, Stampotique is offering a $30 gift certificate to our random winner!! Each month we draw one random winner from our list of entrants ... so, what are you waiting for .... create and play with us!!

And here is my candy inspired October mixed media project!!

So I started with cookbook pages, tore them out of my favorite sized cookbook and glued them down to a canvas board.  I covered the paper with Titan Buff mixed with acrylic glazing to give the paint some transpar

I grabbed out my stampotique stamps ... SO stinkin' cute!!  I used my favorite watercolors and had a blast coloring a whole group of them!!

I made a ton of little squares of my favorite candy color inspired watercolors for the flowers and candycorn trees!

After the watercolors were dry, I cut out the shapes I wanted and started creating my candyland!

I sorted them out ... but realized that I needed some more of a background!! I used stencils, archival ink for the sky and green watercolors for the grass!
